Experience the famous Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal for a sunshine-filled, grand vacation at the heart of Los Cabos!

Location

Found in the tourist corridor of the Baja California Peninsula, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal puts you at the center of Los Cabos.

The hotel makes quite an impression from the moment you arrive. Guests drive through a 900-foot, torch-lit tunnel carved from the cliffs and mountains of Pedregal. (This is the only mountain tunnel in Mexico!) Once you reach the end of the tunnel, there’s a scenic roundabout entryway signaling you’ve arrived at the resort.

As soon as you step out of the car, a personal concierge will greet you with all smiles to assist with check-in. Welcome margaritas are handed out as well to help kickstart your stay at this wonderful property.

Getting to the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is easy. If you’re flying from the United States, there are direct flights from San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas towards the Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Once you arrive at the airport, it’ll be a 35 to 45-minute car ride toward the resort. For an additional fee, you can arrange for the hotel to pick you up in a private car.

Should you choose to explore outside of the property, you’re within close walking distance to the town of Cabo San Lucas while the town of San Jose del Cabo, an artsy little village, is just a 10-16 minute drive.

Room

Staying at such a glitzy resort means you’re also getting its equivalent when it comes to the rooms. There are a total of 115 rooms in distinct categories tagged as rooms, suites, beachfront, casitas, villas, and private residences

All rooms come with a plunge pool and private balcony. Guests also receive complimentary room refreshments like a fruit platter, chips, guacamole, and nuts which are refreshed daily.

There’s even a Clase Azul tequila housed in a handpainted blue bottle provided for guests. You can bring the bottle home with you but the rest of the tea set needs to be purchased. There’s also in-room coffee and refreshments like water, soda, and juices provided in the mini-fridge. In addition, guests are also treated to a nightly turndown service.

When exchanging your Hilton Honors points, you can get a free night at a standard room which is the Pacific View King Bed. This room offers partial ocean views with over 856 square feet of space.

A grand king bed is decked in refined sheets and a comfy Premium Pillow. It’s flanked by nightstands with a gas fireplace at the foot of the bed. Binoculars sit in the room too, so you can catch a glimpse of whales during the winter season.

Handmade furniture is used throughout with Mexican artwork on the walls. On the ceilings are open wood beams with stylish chandeliers. Meanwhile, the bathrooms are equally stunning. These have a soaking tub, a lighted vanity mirror, and an open-air shower. Custom-made Vervan toiletries, which are made from Mexico, are also added to the space.

Craving for more space? The Estrella Suite, Dos Mares Jr. Suite, and the One Bedroom Ocean View Suite give you more room to unwind as it measures between 1,400 to 1,600 square feet. However, if you’re here for the beach, you can book any of the beachfront suites to put you just mere steps from the water.

Take your pick from the Presidential Beachfront Suite, Pedregal Two Bedroom Beachfront, and the Premium Beachfront One Bedroom Suite – King Bed. With dedicated butler service, an infinity pool, two master bedrooms, spacious lawns, and spa-like bathrooms—you’re truly pampered during your stay.

Both the casitas and villas are also in two-bedroom and three-bedroom configurations. These rooms are fantastically luxurious, presenting upwards of 2,000 square feet of room for you to frolic and revel in throughout your visit.

Finally, the most extravagant of the guest rooms is the private residences. These are in three-bedroom and four-bedroom choices. Both these are over 4,000 square feet with exquisite indoor and outdoor spaces. Wraparound terraces present brilliant ocean views and the vaulted ceilings create an open-air feel.

Amenities

It may only have a little over 100 rooms, but the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal removes all the stops when providing guests with premium amenities for them to enjoy.

For starters, there are four public swimming pools. Two of the most favored are the infinity pools by the beach. One pool even has a built-in hot tub if you want a soak during the colder months. Another pool is made for kids while another is located at the spa and comes with an impressive man-made waterfall.

Families traveling with kids will love how the hotel provides a kid’s club stocked with toys, games, bean bags, and more to keep the young ones entertained.

If you want pure relaxation, don’t skip out on the ultimate spa experience at Luna y Mar, the Waldorf Astoria Spa. Reflecting the rhythm of the moon and the sound of the sea, the spa nourishes guests with a host of treatments such as The Awakening Moon that’s designed to bring self-discovery and renewal. For cleansing, The Restoring Moon is a 110-minute treatment that detoxifies your lymphatic system. In addition, there’s a host of facial treatments, body massages, and Mexican folk healing and wellness procedures.

Fitness buffs will appreciate the gym with its state-of-the-art equipment. Expect a host of weights, cardio machines, TRX bands, kettlebells, and even a dedicated yoga room. Right by the gym is a mini library and a business center, the latter is fitted with a computer so you can print travel documents.

The Waldorf Astoria also has a scenic beach. However, this area isn’t swimmable. Much of Cabo waters carry strong rip currents which make it dangerous for swimming. The white sand though is remarkable and perfect for scenic walks by the ocean.

Other things to check out include the AlmArte boutique shop where you can buy artisanal goods including handmade items from Guadalajara. In addition, there’s also a tennis court, Wi-Fi in the rooms and resort, as well as a host of other activities you can explore nearby.

Despite appealing to a younger, hipper crowd, Chileno Bay Resort & Residences isn’t ordinarily a spring breakers hub. This makes it perfect for travelers who want a mellow yet chic vacation in the middle of Los Cabos.

Location

Known as a boutique establishment, the Chileno Bay Resort & Residences echoes a relaxing atmosphere where guests can experience fantastic modern indulgence. The resort is one of many luxury properties lining the coast between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo

To reach the resort, it’ll take approximately 30-minutes from the Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). But driving to the main town of San Jose del Cabo will only take around 15-20 minutes along the same route.

When you visit the main town, you can experience the unique Thursday night Art Walk. A once-a-week event where galleries open until late at night and the streets are closed to make way for vendors and their wares.

There are also several areas to explore at Chileno Bay so you may not want (or have the need) to leave the area at all.

Room

Have a blast staying at any of the 92 extravagant guest spaces at the resort. Choose from regular Guestrooms, Villas, Sky Villas, or the lavish private residence, Brisa del Mar

At 760 to 885 square feet of space, the Garden View Room serves as the entry-level offering. Featuring a private furnished terrace that looks out to the sprawling garden as well as an outdoor shower, you’ll love having a private oasis all to yourself.

Inside the room, guests can enjoy a king bed with large floor-to-ceiling windows to allow for a flood of sunshine during the day. Colorful sofas are dressed in traditional Mexican patterns, bringing a touch of the local culture into the room. Beige walls, neutral marble floors, wooden furniture, and ceilings also echo the vibe of the area.

Meanwhile, the bathroom is fitted with exquisite fixtures and gigantic wall mirrors including a trough-like vanity sink big enough for two. A standalone bathtub sits invitingly amidst striking blue and white tiles – the right color for a relaxing soak.

A suite upgrade lets you celebrate Baja living at its finest. Complete with picturesque garden views, you have the option to go for the Garden View Suite with Plunge Pool or the more extravagant, Spa Suite with Plunge Pool and Hot Tub

If you want a homey space, the villas might be for you. Take your pick from one bedroom up to four-bedroom villas, enough to accommodate families or groups traveling together. These spaces feature open-plan rooms so the living area spreads towards the gourmet kitchen which comes stocked with Subzero and Wolf kitchen appliances. You also have the option to hire the services of a Private Personal Chef if you book a villa.

However, if unobstructed views of the water and grounds are what you’re after, opt for the three to five-bedroom Sky Villas. These villas are found on the top floors of the resort buildings, providing a fantastic view of the water, the gardens, and the sky. The sky villas start at 5,700 square feet, complete with a pool, fireplace, gourmet kitchen, wet bar with gill, impressive bedrooms with baths, and dedicated butler service.

Finally, the most extravagant accommodation at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences is its six-bedroom oceanfront villa dubbed Brisa Del Mar. With over 24,000 square feet of space, they’ve pulled out all the stops on what it means to have a luxury retreat. Guests can enjoy a private elevator, 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, a spiral staircase, a swimming pool, and so much more.

Amenities

Chileno Bay Resorts & Residences makes sure the property has everything guests could ever need.

Like a shining jewel, their multi-tiered swimming pool complex is a stunner. There’s no swim-up bar but you’ll be spoiled by staff as they stand on guard, ready to assist you with anything you need.

These tiered pools lead down to the beach. Chileno Bay has the advantage of having a true swimmable beach—a rare occurrence in Cabo. Guests can snorkel or sunbathe at the private beach without worrying about hawkers or vendors bothering them.

Golf enthusiasts will adore that the resort offers direct access to the private Chileno Bay Club. Meanwhile, those with kids can drop their youngsters off at the resort’s kid’s club where they get supervised care including video games, photobooks, tech items, and more, to entertain themselves.

Want to unwind and be pampered? Head to the resort’s holistic spa. Revitalize your body with a restorative massage like the Auberge Attunement. You can also try something unique like the Aztec Healing Ritual which was once used during pre-hispanic times to cleanse the body’s energy.

In addition, other amenities to expect in the resort include a cinema, valet and free parking, a fitness center as well as Wi-Fi.
